On 29 October 2019 a number of changes to the Road Safety act 1986 have taken effect. The Road Safety (Driver) Regulations 2009 expired and a new set of regulations have commenced on 29 October. The new regulations are The Road Safety (Driver) Regulations 2019. The following is an overview of the changes that have occurred from 29 October 2019.
Requirement To Convert To Victorian Licence
Interstate and Overseas Licence Holder needs to convert to a Victorian Licence/ Learner Permit after living in Victoria For 6 Months If you are currently using an Overseas Licence,You will have six months from 29th October 2019,to convert to an Victorian Licence
International Drivers Needs to convert their licence and those driving on Learner Permits will be needed to take Victorian Learner Permit Test
There is no Change to the licence requirement and assessments.
